The Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nayay Yatra Ends :  Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, started on January 14 from Manipur and was scheduled to end on March 17 in Mumbai. The yatra was aimed with lot fanfare and hope with that just like his last foot march -Bharat Jodo Yatra in 2023- that has created lot of buzz and boosted the battered image of Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Nayay Yatra in Numbers 

Rahul Gandhi is set to cover over 6,700 kilometres over 67 days, going through 110 districts. The yatra, will travel through 15 states, 100 Lok Sabha seats.

Difference Between Two yatra of Rahul Gandhi

The current Nayay Yatra pales in comparison to the previous yatra. I.N.D.I.A hoping for better connect with the voters. However, I.N.D.I.A started to lose partners as the way it moves from eastern part of India to west. Here is the chronological list of allies or leader leaving congress during Bharat Jodo Nayay Yatra.

Rahul Gandhi enters West Bengal on 25 Jan 

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra 2.0, starts from Manipur on January 14, and enters enter Bengal on January 25. Meanwhile, just a day before entering into West Bengal (42 Seats), CM Mamata Banerjee announced that TMC will fight alone in the state. She also said that the final decision will be taken post-Lok Sabha results.

Rahul Gandhi enters Bihar on 29 Jan

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was scheduled to enter in Bihar on 29 Jan,24. However, just a day before Bihar CM Nitish Kumar switched side and resigned. The I.N.D.I alliance was betting big on Bihar (40 Seats) in coming lok Sabha elections.

Rahul Gandhi enters Jharkhand on 31 Jan 

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on 31 Jan,2024, soon after his resignation from Chief Ministerial post. The resignation came after the ED officials questioned him for more than seven hours at his official residence in Ranchi. Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan has accepted his resignation.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ was scheduled to enter Jharkhand (14 Seats) on 2 Feb, 2024. The new government led by Champai Soren government won the trust vote on the floor of the Jharkhand Assembly on 6 Feb,2024.

Rahul Gandhi enters Uttar Pradesh on 18 Feb 

On 9th February, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary welcomed the Centre’s move to announce Bharat Ratna for his grandfather, former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. The Bharat Ratna for Charan Singh comes amid buzz about Jayant Chaudhary ditching the Samajwadi Party alliance and joining hands with BJP. However, RLD officially joins NDA on 2 March, 24 after the announcement of first list of BJP.

On 24 Feb, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav joined the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. However, the yatra has entered in the state on 18 Feb, but Akhilesh was willing to join the yatra only after final seat sharing pact with Congress. So under pressure, Congress announced the seat arrangement on 21 Feb. As per arrangement, Congress will contest 17 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party and other INDIA bloc members will fight on the remaining 63 seats.

Rahul Gandhi enters Madhya Pradesh on March 2

The Bharat Jodo Nayay Yatra was scheduled to enter Madhya Pradesh on March 2 after brief break of 5 days. The Congress was trying to recover from defeat in assembly polls and wishing that yatra could rejuvenated the cadre.  Meanwhile, on 17 Feb,24, former CM Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath dropped congress from his bio, while his father was in Delhi amidst the buzz that Kamal Nath is joining BJP. There are several leaders close to Nath such as Jabalpur Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh ‘Annu’, has left the party to join the BJP.

Rahul Gandhi enters  Gujarat on March 8

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra enters Gujarat on 8th March. In last few days state unit has lost two Congress MLAs, including veteran Arjun Modhwadia. Congress has been now out of power in the state for 30 years. Modhwadia and Ladani has their hold in Saurashtra-Kutch region, which comprises 54 of the state’s 182 Assembly seats, and 7 of its 26 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Rahul Gandhi enters Maharashtra on  March 12 

The Nyay Yatra enters in Maharashtra on March 12 in Nandurbar. The yatra has been scheduled to proceed to Dhule, Malegaon, and Nashik before reaching Mumbai on March 16 followed by Rahul Gandhi’s address in a public rally in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on March 17.

But as a strange coincidence, on 14 Jan, same day when Rahul Gandhi started his yatra, former Union Minister and ex-MP from Mumbai South Milind Deora’s resigned from Congress. Later he joined Eknath Shinde’s Shivsena. Next month on 12 Feb,Ashok Chavan quits the Congress and joined the BJP the next day.
