Hyderabad | The Income Tax Department on Monday conducted raids against the three owners of Telugu Production Company Maithri which produced the blockbuster Film Pushpa at various locations in Hyderabad. IT officials suspect that some NRIs have funded this film production company.

IT officials raided 15 locations including the residences of the company’s three owners Ylamchili Ravishankar, Naveen Arneny and Cherukuri Mohan. Maithri has produced blockbuster films including Pushpa, Ranstalam and Shrimuthudu.

According to the reports, various IT teams from different states reached Hyderabad to conduct the survey. IT officials reached the office of Maithri Films in the morning and started action. IT department has not given any official statement about this raid but sources said that the raids were conducted because of alleged foreign funding.

Maithri Productions has produced many big films under its banner. It has signed actors like Chiranjivi, Balkrishna, and Pawan Kalyan at a big remuneration. The film Ustad of Pawan Kalyan, the superstar of the South, is also slated to be produced in 2023 under the same banner.
